Margaret Evans

Margaret Evans is a Scottish contemporary artist as well as being an internationally respected tutor and author of numerous art books. She graduated from the Glasgow School of Art in 1974 which gave her an excellent grounding in the traditional oil painting techniques she still uses to this day. Margaret paints full-time from her studio in Perthshire, Scotland.

After moving around, Margaret settled in Scotland in the 80s and was immediately inspired by the landscape. From there, she began to develop her use of pastels as a serious painting medium and discovered that by mixing pastels (pure pigments) with oils or water, she could manipulate their consistency and application to create scenes full of depth and contrast.
