Gillian McDonald
Gillian McDonald was born in London and studied at the West Surrey College of Arts. She then worked in London as a graphic designer before exploring her opportunities in Australia, Singapore, and Indonesia. It was during her time in the Far East that she discovered her love for painting with watercolour and began to experiment with mixed media.
Gillian came back to the United Kingdom in the 1980s and continues to enjoy a successful art career. She settled down in North Pembrokeshire, Wales and between creating new artworks, she runs the McDonald Ralph Publishing company with her husband.
Gillian creates scenes with dramatic skies, majestic mountains, and isolated crofts to evoke the profound sense of solitude and tranquillity that are fondly associated with our beautiful Highlands and Islands.
